about the author

Nadia Mota is an artist and writer from Adrian, Michigan. She received her BA in Creative Writing & Literature with a minor in American Culture from the University of Michigan. She received her MFA in Creative Writing with a concentration in Poetry from the University of Michigan’s Helen Zell Writers’ Program.

She currently teaches English at Washtenaw Community College and runs a small art business called Peach Rings Studio in her spare time. You can usually find her junk journaling, drinking coffee, or bedazzling everything in sight.

You can find her poems in [Pank] Magazine, The Offing, and the poetry anthology The Breakbeat Poets: LATINEXT. Her first collection of poems, La Chiflada is forthcoming from Bull City Press in September 2026.
